Each reminder gets an idempotency key that combines the item, the reminder rule and the target expiry cycle. Duplicate worker runs resolve to the same event rather than sending a second reminder. Transient failures retry with bounded backoff across Email, SMS and WhatsApp.

Central Register
Renewal is one step, not a project
Mark as renewed creates a renewal record and updates the active expiry atomically. Recurring intervals handle month-end and leap-day edge cases. Future reminders reschedule for the new cycle automatically — history is never overwritten.

The details, answered
How are reminders delivered?+
In-app and by email. Each reminder is deduplicated per item, rule and expiry cycle, and failed deliveries are retried with bounded backoff before moving to a dead-letter queue — so a temporary outage never silences your 7-day warning.
Can I use my own reminder schedule?+
Yes. The 90/30/7/1-day ladder is a default, not a rule. Toggle any offset per item, from 1 day to a full year before expiry. Preferred reminder times are available on Pro and Business.
What happens when I mark an item renewed?+
One step. A renewal record is created and the active expiry updates atomically — the old cycle is preserved in history, and all future reminders reschedule for the new cycle automatically.
Where are my documents stored?+
In private object storage with no public access. Downloads use signed, short-lived URLs tied to your authenticated session. Files are validated by type and size (PDF, PNG, JPEG, WebP; up to 20 MB).
Does RenewOS use AI?+
No cloud AI — by design. Reminders, status and reporting are deterministic systems you can reason about. The only automated step is the optional 'Detect expiry date' scan, which is plain text recognition running entirely on your device — your documents are never sent to any AI service.
Can I get my data out?+
Anytime. CSV, JSON and ICS calendar export are included on Pro and Business. No lock-in: leaving is as easy as arriving.
